Machine translation for text and whole documents, known for natural-sounding output in European languages.
DeepL Translator translates typed text and whole files such as Word, PowerPoint and PDF documents, keeping the formatting where it can. It covers a long list of languages and lets you pick formal or informal address for the languages that have it. A glossary feature fixes how specific terms are translated, which matters for product names and technical words.
You can use it on the website, in desktop and mobile apps, and through a browser extension. A free version has limits on text and file size; paid plans add more volume and stricter data handling. Developers can use the DeepL API to translate inside their own software.
Machine translation is a draft. For legal, medical or published marketing text, have a fluent speaker review the result, and check how the service stores the documents you upload before sending anything confidential.
