Why this directory exists
WriteChanges exists because AI writing tools are hard to compare. Many do overlapping jobs, many describe themselves in the same words, and lists elsewhere often rank them with scores nobody can explain. We wanted a directory that sorts these tools by the writing they help with and describes each one plainly.
So every description here is written by us, in one or two sentences, about what the tool does. We don't publish ratings or "best of" rankings, and we don't list prices, since they change too often to keep honest. When we can't confirm a detail, such as a free plan or a Word add-in, the page says so.
The directory is paid for by labeled placements. A tool maker can pay to appear first in a category or on the home page, and that spot always carries a Featured mark. Payment never changes what we write about a tool.
How tools are chosen and described
Every tool here has an official website we checked and a description we wrote ourselves. We don't copy marketing text, publish ratings or rank tools against each other. When we can't confirm a feature, such as a free plan or a Word add-in, the tool page says so instead of guessing.
Makers can submit a tool or claim a listing to correct it. A person reviews every request, and paid placements are marked as featured or premium wherever they appear.
Right now that is 55 AI writing tools in 10 categories, last checked 2026-11-03.
Makers can submit or claim a listing for free. A person checks every request before anything changes. Paid placements are marked Sponsored wherever they appear, and they never change what we write about a tool.
